Previously a few weeks ago we had doors and trim delivered and the walls painted. Not much has happened until just this last week other than deliveries and the vinyl on the bathroom and laundry room floors was installed on Sept 14th.
The kitchen and bathroom cabinets were delivered into the garage on Sept 20th. They just got installed in the last couple of days. They look very nice. There isn’t any hardware on the doors and drawers yet. In the picture below you can see the kitchen cabinets and how the center island has filled out.
We also got our well drilled on Sept 21. They finished today with the trench with the water pipe going to the house and the pressure tank installed.
More carpentry work has been completed. Doors have been hung and trim around them up and painted. Baseboards are in. It looks like the toeboards have been painted and are ready for the the flooring installers to get their portion done. We have discovered handrails on the steps going into the basement and steps built for all four doors to the house. One set of steps, garage to house, have been installed.
There is still a great deal left to do. There is fininshing the electrical and plumbing. There are no outlets or switches, sinks, toilets or countertops installed. The plumbing pipes still are not hooked up in the basement and the sewage pipes are not complete. We also need to schedule the first water quality test. When the baseboards were painted, there was overspray on the walls so there now is more painting on the walls to be done. We have minor damage to two locations on the walls to be fixed and our broken window still needs to be replaced. Although the seams in the floors have been sanded smooth, we still don’t have laminate or carpet. We also need the final grading outside, steps installed and another load of gravel to smooth and even out the driveway.
On the bright side, we purchased furniture and appliances and they are ready to be delivered when we need them. The end of this process is in sight. Now we start to pack up and move!
