Today I found several new changes at the house. After so much time going by with few changes, it was good to see several on one day. The first one I saw was a small excavator sitting next to the driveway. I had seen it from the road and hoped that meant the septic system hole was being dug. Nope, but this is just as good.
You can see a mound of dirt next to the trench coming from the power pole which is in our “front yard”. The trench angles around to the east side of the house and makes a sharp turn at the electrical box. I am glad to see it in, but with all the rain that trench is full of water.
Another noticable change is a large amount of drywall and joint compound that has been delivered. There are several huge pieces in every room. I didn’t measure it, but they look about 10 feet long. I tried to lift one, I couldn’t budge it. How did it get in? How is it put into place? Do these workers have hydraulic exoskeletons? Good grief.
Last but not least is WE HAVE GUTTERS FINALLY! Yes, I am a little excited.
We have downspouts too, but unfortunately they can’t be completed until the final grade around the house is done. They dangle about a foot or two above the ground. Progress! On the bright side, although we have dampness in the basement, there is no significant standing water.
