Another picture by Tom. We are on the west side of the house. The wall closest to us will be the master bathroom and closest to the left and master bedroom on the right. Pushing out away from the wall you would have the laundry room on the left and kitchen on the right where the outcrop is. Next is the great room and dining room. Furthest away are two guest bedrooms in each far corner with a bathroom in between. The front door will be on the left (north) about halfway along the wall and will come into the great room. The back door is on the right (south) coming out of the kitchen at the outcrop.
Looking carefully at ground level on the left, not down in the hole, you can barely see the footers for the garage. Down in the hole you can see the footers all along the bottom edge of the future basement walls. Rebar steel is sticking up out of those footers all the way around. It was explained to me that the rebar is short for reinforcing bars that make the walls stronger. Initially, I thought concrete had been poured across the width of the floor, but Tom said that is just gravel at this point.
