Our Dream
When Tom and I married, we both wanted a few acres of quiet farmland so that we could build a home, grow a garden and perhaps a few fruit trees. That was 2009. As time went by, we expanded that vision to include a flock of chickens as well as a couple of dogs and cats. Maybe we might even get some sheep! Build a pond with fish! Dreaming big, eh? We finally found the right land and purchased it in Sept 2017.
Starting in May 2018, we began building our farmhouse. Check out the blog for details and the construction gallery for great pictures! In Nov 2019, we moved in and began working on landscaping, improving the pasture area and planting a garden. (And rescuing two kitties!) We made some good progress in our first year.
Although winter was pretty slow in getting new things done, in April 2020 we teamed up with a friend and tilled and planted hay fields and the back pasture. Tom built more raised beds. Stay tuned for more progress notes!
